For those of you who have your children with you - it's a day to be celebrated. A day to have extra love and gratitude and adoration poured upon you.
For those of us, that have lost our children in any sense, this day can really suck. I mean it can hurt and bring up so many raw emotions. We try to avoid any mention of it and brace ourselves for impact at the same time. We know it's coming. It comes around every year. And every year it stings a bit more than the last. Because every year it serves as a reminder of what we don't have…or have lost…the opportunities that we are missing each day.
Nothing can really take away the anger, disgust and hurt, but I want to share some words of comfort. From the moment of conception, the moment that precious life began to grow in your womb, you became a mom. Just because we don't have our children physically here with us, doesn't make us any less of a mom. I celebrate the mother that you are. I’m sending you love, peace and hope for better days and I thank you for being a part of my life. I honestly don't think I would have survived these past 3 years if not for the support, encouragement and acknowledgement from mothers like you.
